This military field desk is an amazing find. We traced the owner, John P. Lucas Jr. to an officer in the Vietnam War. John P Lucas Jr. is credited as a researcher for the book titled, "Vietnam Studies Command and Control 1950-1969." We can only imagine that he actually did field research on this very desk. We were drawn to this piece with it's aged patina and lettering on the back and front. The heavy hinges and lock and key, only adds to it's authenticity. We mounted the field desk to the vintage industrial base with hand made metal straps that hold the desk in place without sacrificing the integrity of this historical bar or secretary.
